The Good Stuff, All in One Place
There’s a lot of disc golf content out there. Some of it’s great, some of it’s… not. Here are the resources I actually use and recommend — course finders, rules references, community organizations, and tools that make the sport better.
This page will grow over time. If there’s something useful missing, let me know.
Essential Tools
UDisc
The app everyone uses. Course directory, scorekeeping, stats tracking, course maps. Free version does everything you need; paid version adds detailed stats and some other features. I track every round in UDisc — probably have 800+ rounds logged at this point.
PDGA (Professional Disc Golf Association)
The governing body for competitive disc golf. Official rules, player ratings, tournament finder, membership info. If you want to play sanctioned events, you’ll need a PDGA membership ($50/year for amateurs). Their rules page is the definitive source for “wait, is that legal?”
Disc Golf Scene
Tournament registration and league management. If there’s a local event, it’s probably organized through DGS. Also good for finding leagues near you.
Learning Resources
Overthrow Disc Golf (YouTube)
Best instructional content on YouTube IMO. Josh breaks down mechanics in a way that actually makes sense. His beginner series is excellent.
Danny Lindahl / Dynamic Discs (YouTube)
Great for understanding disc flight numbers and what they actually mean. His “disc golf physics” videos are nerdy in the best way.
Seabas22 / Disc Golf Dojo
More advanced stuff. His “crush the can” drill is legendary. Can be dense but worth it if you’re ready to go deeper on mechanics.
DG Course Review
User reviews of courses. UDisc has mostly taken over this function, but DGCR still has good historical reviews and detailed course info for older courses.
Community & Inclusion
Disc golf should be welcoming to everyone. These organizations are doing the work to make that happen:
Throw Proud
LGBTQ+ advocacy and community building in disc golf. They organize events, provide resources, and work to make the sport more inclusive. I support them and you should too.
Queer Disc Golf
Community initiative connecting LGBTQ+ players. Good for finding other queer players in your area and events that are explicitly welcoming spaces.
PDGA Women’s Committee
Resources and advocacy for women in disc golf. Growing the FPO division, running women’s clinics, and working on participation barriers.
Disc Golfers for Change
Broader social impact work — diversity, accessibility, environmental stewardship. Worth following if you care about the sport being a positive force.
Gear Research
Infinite Discs
Good selection, user reviews of individual discs, and their “Flight Chart” feature is useful for comparing disc stability. I buy a lot of my plastic here.
DG Puttheads Flight Charts
Visual flight charts for basically every disc ever made. Great for comparing discs you’re considering. Nerdier than the manufacturer flight numbers but more accurate.
TryDiscs
Disc comparison tool. Plug in what you’re throwing and find similar options from other manufacturers. Useful when your favorite disc goes out of production (RIP).
Watching the Sport
JomezPro (YouTube)
The best tournament coverage. Lead card footage from major events, post-produced with commentary. If you want to watch elite disc golf, start here.
Gatekeeper Media
Chase card and feature card coverage. Complements Jomez nicely for getting full tournament pictures.
Disc Golf Pro Tour
Official site for the pro tour. Schedule, standings, live scoring. Good for following along during tournaments.
Local to Pacific Northwest
Since I’m based in Oregon, here are some PNW-specific resources:
Oregon Leagues (DG Scene)
Find weekly leagues in Oregon. There’s something almost every day of the week if you know where to look.
Oregon Course Directory (PDGA)
Full list of courses in the state. UDisc is better for reviews and maps, but the PDGA directory is comprehensive.
Portland Disc Golf Community (Facebook)
Local group for finding rounds, selling/trading discs, and general Portland disc golf news. Facebook groups are annoying but this is where the community lives.
Podcast Recommendations
For when you want disc golf content during your commute:
- The Upshot — Best overall disc golf podcast. Charlie and Josh cover tour news, strategy, and interviews.
- Disc Golf Answer Man — Rules and etiquette questions answered. Surprisingly interesting.
- The Disc Golf Podcast — Interviews with pros and industry people. Good for deeper dives.
Missing Something?
If there’s a resource you use that should be on this list, tell me about it. I’m always looking for good stuff to recommend.
